Biografy of a

Paintjockey

2004. I felt the need to communicate from within myself and vice versa with others.

My intuition was to do Live Painting – accompanying musicians during Jazz sessions held every Thursday at the RAI-Art in Barcelona. Then I began to feel that the music had colors, textures and forms in addition to motion and dancing; and I generated clarifying visions.
Already from the first session I experienced the public feeling the power of a drop of paint and the creativity it generates… they told me their experiences … we communicated!!

I felt deeply that creativity is a mental vibration that allows our brain to make new connections, so it is the most powerful tool to be happy. It awakens our being and makes us feel like subject that can innovate your life versus the object feeling of sorry for himself in a rigid context.

I started my new search that still moves me and has become my way of life!!!

2009. It was during the first experiments with electronic music that I felt a Paintjockey (Pj) mixing the colors synchronously with Disc-jockeys (DJ), Video Jockey (VJ) and I became Evitzkaya-Pj.

So I created the Paintjockey profile:

. Concept
The term “Paintjockey” or ”Pj” applies to those creators who generate live painting sessions mixing colors without any preconceived ideas or images in mind. They are artists whose work is a flexible fusion, mixing and translating music and other performing arts arts, scientific or philosophical Concepts and other intangibles.
Using the language of performance art in different places and circunstances with public.
. Methodology
The creative process of a “Pj” begins with designing the staging and selecting materials and paints to be used depending on the Context / Concept.
Then it continues with the building the stage and finally with the act of artistic production. * the paintjockey session ends at the moment when all painting tools are collected, packed and brought back to the studio. However, the communication between the paintjockey, musicians and the public carries on. By Eva Sans,2009.
